...in digital media exudes style and originality, whether it's establishing a business brand, building an internet identity, inventing creative marketing materials, or fashioning the perfect event invitation.
...in photography takes a photojournalistic approach, generating a unique blend of candid and portrait style that captures the emotion behind the moments that become life's memories.
I have always found myself drawn to beautiful things. Starting my own business as a Graphic Designer and Photographer was a huge leap for me. It opened up a door for me to be able to have creative freedom and expression present in my life on a day to day basis and to be at home with my family, which are the two most important things in the world to me.
While the love of balance and composition has always been a part of my life, transforming my talents into a career was a notion I first put into practice a little over a year ago doing while doing freelance graphic design work (under the name Inspired Design). Over time I have worked to increase my skill level, and am now one of the top 100 of the 20,386 designers on the freelance website elance.com. While I put a great deal of time and effort into all aspects of my business, I was still missing the link that would bring them all together, and looking for ways to bring my work into the local scene. And that's how Red Bird Design was created.
I'm more than a girl with a camera. I'm more than someone who knows how to draw. I'm blazing a new trail in the field of design arts by combining the use of photojournalism and graphics in creative ways to produce unique products. My talent covers the gamut from wedding photography to child and family portraits to the development of company logos. My style is a little bit corporate, a little bit whimsical; a little bit professional, a little bit laid back; a little bit country, a little bit rock-n-roll. Whatever happens to inspire me at the moment -- be it a new business concept or a baby's smile -- that's what I aim to capture in my work.
So, why 'Red Bird'? A number of reasons, actually... Red is one of my favorite colors… I have bird wallpaper in my office… I've lived in Akron, Ohio all my life, and the state bird is the brilliant red northern cardinal… Cardinals are songbirds, and I love to sing… Birds bring to mind a unique perspective of the world, seeing things from a different angle, taking flight and soaring... all qualities with which I strive to imbue my work.
